About
The George Hotel and car park is situated in the centre of Braunton Village, which has an excellent range of local shops and services .Braunton is the ideal base being within easy reach of miles of beautiful surf clad beaches, the Exmoor National Park, superb Golf Courses and a large range of associated activities.

John and Jacky Moran have owned the George since 1999, and have refurbished and improved the hotel in many ways, not least of all by creating an excellent restaurant facility.

They have built a reputation for good food and friendly staff since the opening of the restaurant and have introduced a menu which features not only traditional food but also popular Mexican and Tex Mex dishes.

The George has a policy of using fresh produce wherever possible; in the case of Mexican and Tex Mex recipes for example, only traditional guacamole from Mexico and spices from Texas.

A local butchers shop which has been trading for nearly a century supplies The George with meat , all of which has been reared locally.

Food moves on like fashion, and John and Jacky are in constant touch with London Chefs to keep tabs on the latest trends and recipes.

The restaurant has also developed a range of curries with authentic sauces as well as a range of stonebaked pizzas. The chefs stress that despite striving for high standards the food is not expensive and accommodates a wide range of tastes from traditional food through to the more exotic.

All night the restaurant is candlelit , providing a lovely atmosphere for what must surely be some of the best food available in England's largest village.

For surfing or golf, The George Hotel is an ideal place to stay. Braunton is a centre for surfers, with easy access to many excellent surfing beaches, and North Devon boasts a wide range of golf courses all situated within easy reach of Braunton

Bars
Residents will be able to mix with locals to savor a taste of the friendly atmosphere of North Devon. The bars host a wide selection of beers, lagers, real ales and wines.

     

There is live entertainment from Thursdays through to Sundays , and the bars are open until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
